Requirements

Megan has 3 main issues that she would like to address in any new ICT based system.

• She is aware that many other campsites have a more sophisticated pricing policy than her flat rate pricing. For example, some campsites charge more for electricity in addition to the basic pitch fee. Other campsites charge a reduced pitch fee and then apply a further charge for each adult and child who will occupy the pitch. Megan would like you to consider these and other additional facilities that she may be able to charge for to develop a more sophisticated pricing policy. This would allow her to meet the needs of her customers more closely, as well as to generate more income to help fund the recent expansion of the campsite.

 

• In order to maximise income, she needs to introduce a peak tariff throughout the season for Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays. This peak tariff will be an additional £4 for each of these nights. Megan wants the booking process to automatically include this extra charge on bookings where this peak tariff will apply.

 

• When a booking is made, Megan currently has to word process an invoice for each customer. This invoice has to include all of the individual charges that make up the booking, along with the total cost of the stay. Megan wants this time consuming process to be completely automated.

Megan has asked you to consider ways in which she could use spreadsheet software to create a system to suit her requirements.
